Transformation

I have so much enjoyed reading some of the comments from far and wide. I wanted to share this one with you from a friend all the way in BC. I just had to giggle at what he wrote because it is exactly my dad's instructions for his own funeral- "Make sure they talk about Christ, not me!" Enjoy...

"Transformation. Two Greek words combined to create this word - metamorphosis - and it describes the transformation process of a larva becoming a caterpillar and ending into a beautiful butterfly.

I knew Jesse before he surrendered his life to Christ in Richmond, BC in the mid-1980s. Kathy prayed consistently, expectantly, patiently for his conversion for four years before he finally did. And what a joy it was to see the transformation the Spirit of God brought to him. From one who ignored Jesus into a man who fell in love with Him. Jesse just could not stop talking about Jesus.

Before his conversion, he and Kathy once attended the Bible study I led in Richmond, and, he slept through it. After his conversion, he immediately shared his faith, getting to work early Friday morning for Bible study at Downtown Toyota with whoever wanted to come and listen. No, it was not merely that Christ was in his life; no, it was not that Christ was part of his life; but yes, Christ was his Life!

Knowing Jesse, he would now probably want us to talk more about his Christ than about him. The Christ that Jesse loved and served is One whose arms are open to embrace the repentant sinner, with the words, 'Welcome home, dear one. I've been waiting for you. What took you so long?' These same loving arms will welcome Jesse with the commendation: 'Well done, good and faithful servant.' Having experienced it firsthand, Jesse always sought to connect people with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. This is Jesse's challenge to me- what about you?"

I have to ask because I know my dad would... :) Have you experienced the transforming power of Jesus Christ in your life?

Good morning.

I have experienced GOd's transformation on a personl level. In November of 202 I was working as astructural iron worker and I fell head first from 12 feet off the ground on to a concrete floor. I sustained two broken wrists and was unconsciuos for several moments according to my co workers at the time. I was dead, I am sure of it. While I was unconsious, a million bright lights shone on me. I prayed to God to allow me to have a second chance at life, and to forgive me for my sins. I woke up in the most excrutiating pain of my life. I did realise that God did grant me my wish and did give me my chance. I have changed my life for the better since that day, and I do thank God in Jesus name for that. The gift of Pastor Jesse's guidance and your family's giving nature to me and my family will always be special to me, and is a godsend as well. I prayed for a good wife about a year after my accident and my wife Nerissa was given to me. I thank God in Jesus name each day for my blessings and I pray for Pastor Jesse's peacful tranistion and your family's safe guidance through your part of this journey as well. Tahk you for allowing me the time to share my testimony to all of you. I do have more testimony to share when I have more time, with your permission.

God Bless You all

Yes-Transformation is exactly the right word for Jesse! A new creation in Christ Jesus! I knew Jesse a little bit before he knew Christ and since. I truly remember wondering what in the world Kathy was thinking when they got married?

I remember the prayers that were lifted up for Jesse and then he became a Christian. Early on, as a very new believer, he was simply TRANSFORMED! I had never seen anything quite like it in my life.

Thank you Kathy and Jesse for bringing the healing presence of Christ to me over 20 years ago when I was struggling as a new mom and since then over the years.

I love you both so much. I know the Lord is going to say with open arms "well done good and faithful servant"!

Over the miles and through these last days, you still encourage me!

Love, Karen Evans : )

Steph, as you show us the words to the song where you girls want to be just like their dad, I commend you on starting off very well! This is displayed in how you ended off your blog for today, by challenging each of your readers as to whether or not they have experienced the transforming power of Jesus Christ in their lives!!! Great job, girl! Both your dad, Jesse, AND your Heavenly Father are proud of you for that!!! I pray you will be blessed because of your obedience!

When I read this Blog I can not help but to write...

Jesse is the man who lovingly and patiently allowed the Lord to work through him to show me the true love of Christ.

As a result of this patient loving man I prayed with Jesse & asked the Lord into my life way back in 1999. Wow it only took 10 years for me to quit being so stubborn and self centered! Thank you Jesse!

My friend Jesse is unlike any other man I have ever known. He has taught me so much.

We have shared so much together over the years, conversation, debate, travel, laughter, fun, tears, cars and most importantly God.

It is of no surprise that the Lord uses Jesse even to this day to impact the lives of others.

To be a witness in the work of leading people to know and accept the Lord while facing death himself.

Talk about a man who is unselfish!

He is an example to every one of us and one that will never ever be forgotten.

So, in closing when I think of Jesse and his beautiful family I can't help but to think of our loving God.

If you don't know the Lord yet, call me anytime 24x7. Let me share with you how God has impacted my life.

How Jesse's faithfulness has changed my complete family even my Mother's (at 81 years old)!

Jesse is a man of God and I love him dearly.

When I think of the story of Jesse accepting the Lord as an adult it reminds me that; "it's not how well you start the race, it's how you finish."

In this case the Lord will be saying "Well Done, Good & Faithful Servant."

Thank you for sharing this Blog with us all.

Hi Morales Family -
I've felt this verse on my heart for the last day or two and needed to share it, I hope you'll share it with the family. I am not 100% sure why God has led me to share it but I can see where there is meaning for you.

"But thank God! He has made us captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume." - 2 Corinthians 2:14

Your dad to me, and obviously many other people, is like a sweet perfume. He has spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere he can! And while these are difficult times, we must give thanks to our God for he is leading us in his TRIUMPHANT procession.

Triumphant: having won a battle or contest; victorious. A feeling or expressing jubilation after having won a victory or mastered a difficulty.

Your dad's time on this earth may be coming to and end, but that does not mean he has lost the battle. Because just like Christ, he is victorious and has overcome this struggle!

love you loads xoxo

Greetings on Sunday Evening. Thank you for sharing Jesse's special walk with the Lord into the precious arms of Jesus.
We spent many mornings praying and sharing about the plans and responsibilities we shared. I can't imagine waking up in Eternal Morning the the Lord Jesus.
